Comic book version of the original Star Trek TV series that starred William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.
First issue 1967, cover price $0.12, ending with issue 61 in 1979. Comics shown on the stamps are issues 8, 9, 11, 15, 18 and 25 (painted covers by George Wilson). Many of the stories were written by Dick Wood, Len Wein, Arnold Drake, John David Warner, Allan Moniz with art by Nevio Zeccara, Alberto Giolitti, Alden McWilliams, Angelo R. Todaro
Gold Key Comics was an imprint of American company Western Publishing, created for comic books distributed to newsstands. Also known as Whitman Comics, Gold Key operated from 1962 to 1984. It was then revived and taken over by Gold Key Entertainment LLC which holds the trademark today.
