JG Jones - Plasticman

2011.06.18 Wizard Comic Con, Philadelphia, Pa.

JG Jones has worked on a verity of comics, including Y: The Last man for Vertigo Comics, Villains United, Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia graphic novel for DC, Shi for Crusade Comics, Wanted fro Top Cow...

Jones is also noted for his cover art, being named 2006 Cover artist of the Year by Wizard Magazine. He has done cover art for The Avengers, Codename: Knockout, Y: The Last Man, Catwoman, Doc Savage, 52 (all 52 covers)....

Jones was also nominated for Eisner Wards for 2006 Best Cover Artist (Codename: Knockout and Transmetropolitan) and Best Penciler/Inker (Wanted)

When I handed Jones the above cover I expected a Wonder Woman sketch, but then he said "Can I use both sides?"
I replied yes and his Plasticman stretched across the cover...from the look on his face, I could tell Jones enjoyed this little diversion from his usual convention commissions...

Plasticman debuted in Quality Comics in 1941, the creation of Jack Cole. DC would acquire the rights that would bring him into the DC Universe as a recurring character in Batman: The Brave and the Bold...
In 1960 DC brought in another character of similar abilities called Elongated Man, created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino
