Ivar Gjørup, better known as Olfax, has a degree in classic philology and is a former schoolteacher. He was editor and artist of the University's student newspaper, Montanus. In 1983, he started his comic strip 'Egoland'. This daily comic, containing cunning political and commentary on everyday human life.
Phillip Stein Jönsson studied drawing and graphic arts at the School of Applied Art in Copenhagen. In 1985, his first comic, 'Hr. Et Eller Andets oplevelser' ('Mr. One or Other's Experiences') appeared, and also his first album, 'Manden der Kunne Undværes' ('The Dispensible Man'), a political thriller in a loose, sketchy style. Jönsson made the comic strip 'Simple Striber' ('Simple Strips') for Politiken, a humorous, satirical comic about people in the restless society of the 1980s.
Nikoline Werdelin became a ground breaker in 1984 when her comics strip Café won the comics competition in the Danish daily newspaper Politiken. The strip ran for four years and was followed by Homo Metropolis which was published daily in Politiken during the course of two decades.
Jørgen Mogensen was a Danish comic artist and sculptor. He made his first cartoons for Hudibras, the paper of cartoonist Cosper in 1944. Under the joint signature MOCO, the authors also created the pantomime comic strip 'Alfredo', syndicated by P.I.B. around the world, starting with Le Figaro in France.
