Jean Reno autograph
I still enjoy writing to performers from various fields to request an autograph. When I can I provide a related sketch on the first day cover and request an autograph. As a fan of the animation Porco Rosso I took the opportunity to write to actor Jean Russo, who graciously signed the cover
Jean Reno is a French and Spanish actor. He established himself as a leading man of French cinema through his collaborations with director Luc Besson. He is a three-time César Award nominee - Best Actor for Les Visiteurs (1993) and Léon: The Professional (1994), and Best Supporting Actor for The Big Blue (1988).
Porco Rosso is a 1992 Japanese animated adventure fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, based on his 1989 manga Hikōtei Jidai. The plot revolves around an Italian World War I ex-fighter ace, now living as a freelance bounty hunter chasing "air pirates" in the Adriatic Sea. However, an unusual curse has transformed him into an anthropomorphic pig. Once called Marco Pagot (Marco Rossolini in the American version), he is now known to the world as "Porco Rosso". Jean Reno voiced the English dubbed version of the film
