The Snowman and the Snowdog is a 2012 British animated short film, based on the Raymond Briggs characters. It is the sequel to The Snowman, and was created to mark the 30th anniversary of the original short film. The Snowman and the Snowdog won the Televisual Bulldog Award 2013 in the Best Children's category. It was also nominated for the British Academy Children's Award for Animation in 2013

A Charlie Brown Christmas - 50th Anniversary : 2015


2015-Oct-01 marks the 65th anniversary of the “Peanuts” comic strip and December marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most popular holiday TV classics of all time — “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” To celebrate the holiday season and launch October as National Stamp Collecting Month, the U.S. Postal Service dedicated the A Charlie Brown Christmas Forever stamps at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA.

A Charlie Brown Christmas: On their way to join their friends' ice skating on a frozen pond, Charlie Brown confesses to Linus Van Pelt that, despite all the things he likes about the Christmas season, he is still depressed. After Linus' reproach, and a put-down from Violet, he visits Lucy Van Pelt's psychiatric booth and tells her his problem. She suggests he direct the group's annual Christmas play to get involved, and he accepts.

Operation Asterix : 1992 Guernsey

"Operation Asterix" refers to the 1980s project to raise a 3rd-century Roman shipwreck, nicknamed the "Asterix" after a comic character, from St. Peter Port harbor in Guernsey. The operation, supervised by Dr. Margaret Rule, involved salvaging the vessel between 1985 and 1986, with the timbers later sent to the Mary Rose Trust for conservation in Portsmouth. The preserved wreck was returned to Guernsey in 2015.

James Robert Davis is an American cartoonist, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known as the creator of the comic strips Garfield and U.S. Acres. Published since 1978, Garfield is one of the world's most widely syndicated comic strips. Davis's other comics work includes Tumbleweeds, Gnorm Gnat, and Mr. Potato Head.

Garfield was originally published locally as Jon in 1976 (later changed to Garfield in 1977), then in nationwide syndication from 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character Garfield the cat, Odie the dog, and their owner Jon Arbuckle. As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals; the comic held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip.

Lucca Comics & Games : 2016 Italy

Lucca Comics & Gaming is an annual comic book and gaming convention  held in Lucca, Italy. The International Congress of comics was started in 1965, with the first convention being held in Bordighera, Liguria, Italy. In 1966 the convention moved to Lucca. The stamp features art by Michele Rech (Zerocalcare), writer and illustrator of 'The Armadillo Factory', illustrator for the magazine 'Liberazion' and other periodicals. 2014 drew a Marvel variant cover for 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Rech wrote and directed the Italian adult animation 'Tear Along the Dotted Line'. He did the art for the 2016 Lucca convention

The Arrow - The Arrow (Ralph Payne) is a superhero created during the Golden Age of Comic Books. He was the first superhero published by Centaur Publications in 1938. A military intelligence agent who uses his archery skills to fight crime. He delivers messages via arrow, both to criminals and the police, and uses his bow to kill the evildoers.

Fantom of the Fair - The Fantom of the Fair is one of the earliest published Golden Age superheroes. He debuted in Centaur Publications' Amazing Mystery Funnies - July 1939. His early adventures are set fighting threats at the 1939 New York World's Fair. He lives in a subterranean chamber under the Fair, and he travels via secret trap doors placed around the fairgrounds. The Spider - The Spider, in reality was Tom Hallaway, a rich playboy who had grown tired of seeing criminals have their own way harassing and murdering honest citizens, so he adopted the guise of The Spider, and arrow wielding heroe, to settle the score. Created by Paul Gustavson - 1940

Gundam : 2023 Japan

Japan’s first collection of Gundam-themed manhole covers were installed in the city of Odawara, within the Kanagawa prefecture. As part of the new Gundam Manhole Project, the first set of covers have been installed there because it is the birthplace of Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The project plans to install more Gundam-themed manhole covers nationwide, which will feature a different mecha on each one posing with local landmarks.
Two commemorative postmarks were used to mark the first anniversary of the covers installation.

Nero : 1989 Belgium

The Adventures of Nero or Nero was a Belgian comic strip drawn by Marc Sleen (1922-2016) and the name of its main character. The original title ranged from De Avonturen van Detectief Van Zwam in 1947 to De Avonturen van Nero en zijn Hoed in 1950, and finally De Avonturen van Nero & Co from 1951. It ran in continuous syndication until 2002. From 1947 until 1993 it was all drawn by Sleen himself. From 1992 until 2002 Dirk Stallaert took over the drawing while Sleen kept inventing the stories.

Dennis the Menace : 2010 Sunday Funnies

Henry King Ketcham (1920 – 2001) American cartoonist who created the Dennis the Menace comic strip, writing and drawing it from 1951 to 1994, when he retired from drawing the daily cartoon and took up painting full-time in his home studio. In 1953, he received the Reuben Award for the strip, which continues today in the hands of other cartoonists.

Dennis the Menace made its debut on March 12, 1951 in 16 newspapers and was originally distributed by Post-Hall Syndicate. The full-color Sunday strip debuted in January 1952. The inspiration for the comic strip came from Dennis Ketcham, the real-life son of Hank Ketcham, who, at four years old, refused to take a nap and made a complete mess of his room.

Toon van Driel is a Dutch cartoonist, comics writer and comics artist, best known for his comics series F.C. Knudde, about an incompetent association football team, and De Stamgasten, which features anthropomorphic animals telling corny jokes in a bar. He is the winner of the 1988 Stripschapprijs. Van Driel was also the original writer of Eric Schreurs' comic strip Joop Klepzeiker.
